Class Experience
Would you rather play a game or learn about the parts of speech? In this class, you can do both. Each week, we will explore a different part of speech and have activities and games relating to the part of speech of the week. We will have activities like Simons Says, a scavenger hunt, and even an escape room activity that will help the students make connections to the part of speech in order to promote long-term learning as opposed to memorization. I have been a teacher in brick-and-mortar schools for 30 years. During this time, I taught English and Language Arts as both a teacher and a Library Media Specialist. This class will require the students to move around the room during the activities.
There will be no homework assigned.
We will be doing some scavenger hunts, so the students may have to find objects fitting a category, located in their homes to complete the activities. An example of this may be 'something red.'
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The students will be assessed informally based upon participation.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Many of the activities will require the students to be active and move around the room/house.
I have created slides and the activities for this class. No outside sources will be utilized for the curriculum.
