Homework
1 hour per week. Students are encourages to create a folder or notebook that includes information about each parts of speech. The notebook can be used as a resource guide for future writing as well as assist with organization and note taking skills. Activities for review will be posted at the end of the session. Approximately 30 minutes should be scheduled to review and organize daily notes.
Projects
Students will design a parts of speech presentation. This presentation will include class notes, illustrations and examples of each part of speech. It can be desogmed using Google Doc, Google Slides, Powerpoint or Nearpod. Students will share their presentation for peer review.
Assessment
Class participation, review and feedback from assignments will be used to assist with your learner's progress. Students will be expected to present a presentation during the last lesson.

US Grade 2 - 4
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Our one-to-one session will help learners to use the parts of speech better than AI.  They will understand   Articles, Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives, Adverbs, Prepositions, Conjunctions and Pronouns are different types of words.   We will review, define, identify, and properly use the different parts of speech.   Understanding the parts of speech transfers into sentences, paragraph and essay writing skills. My eclectic teaching style pools together resources to assist students' ability to express themselves on paper.  Students will create a parts of speech chart, design writing outlines and diagram sentences during our class time.  Our sessions will include:

Common, Proper, Singular, Plural, Possessive, Concrete and Abstract

Week Two
Types of Verbs
Physical, Mental, State of Being
Verb Tenses

Week Three
Type of Pronouns
Personal, Demonstrative, Reflexive, Possessive, Singular and Plural

Adjectives and Adverbs
Comparative, Superlative, Demonstrative, Interrogative 
Manner, Place, Time, Degree

Week Five
Prepositions, Conjunctions and Articles

My goal is to encourage reading and writing skills.  I believe learning takes place with attention, relevance, memory and prior knowledge. My sessions will include animation for attention; discussion  for relevance; interactive activities to enhance memory and online resources to utilize prior knowledge.  R2D2 (read, reflect, do and display) is also incorporated to provide students with a life-long learning strategy.  These courses are the perfect way to enhance Grammar skills meet Language Art core standards while teaching organization, reading and essay writing skills.
