Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
Beginner Level
Is your child a struggling reader or just needing some brush up? This is the tutoring class for you. We will be reviewing vowel sounds and the rules they follow using interactive games, singing songs, writing and reading. This class includes "Wiggle Breaks" to get our brains moving, reading circles and fun characters to help us practice our skills. I will teach live sessions geared toward each learner’s needs, providing opportunities for modeling and student practice. My teaching style is to encourage each child at their developmental level and celebrate their individual growth in reading skills. I can’t wait to meet my little readers. Let's learn to love reading! For beginning readers, a requirement for this course is that the learner knows the sound of each letter in the alphabet and is able to write the letters of the alphabet. Beginning emergent readers may spend more time on learning the letters and sounds.

The following are examples of our class structure:

Topic #1: “Short Vowel A" with the theme of letter sound correspondence including game, dictation/writing, wiggle break activity, and a short read aloud.

Topic #2: “Short Vowel E" with the theme of letter sound correspondence including game, dictation/writing, wiggle break activity, and a read aloud.

Topic #3: "Short Vowel I" with the theme of letter sound correspondence including a game, dictation/writing, wiggle break activity, and a short read aloud.

Topic #4: “Short Vowel O" with the theme of letter sound correspondence including game, dictation/writing, wiggle break activity, and a short read aloud.

Topic #5: “Short Vowel U" with the theme of letter sound correspondence including a game, dictation/writing, wiggle break activity, and a short read aloud.

Topic #6: “Long Vowel A" with the theme of letter sound correspondence including game, dictation/writing, wiggle break activity, and a short read aloud.

Topic #7: "Long Vowel E" with the theme of letter sound correspondence including a game, dictation/writing, wiggle break activity, and a short read aloud.

Topic #8: “Long Vowel I" with the theme of letter sound correspondence including a game, dictation/writing, wiggle break activity, and a short read aloud.
