What will be taught? This personalized tutoring program delves deeply into phonics, concentrating on seamlessly transitioning from single to multisyllabic words. Utilizing the Orton-Gillingham method, students will master strategies to decode and encode (read/spell) complex words, fostering confidence and fluency in reading. By focusing on one-on-one instruction, we ensure targeted support and accelerated progress. Class Structure Each session is meticulously designed to cater to the unique learning pace and preferences of the individual student. Beginning with a review of previous concepts, we then delve into new material, providing ample time for hands-on practice and reinforcement. How I teach Through personalized instruction, I employ a multisensory approach, blending visual, auditory, and kinesthetic techniques to maximize learning. With patient guidance and encouragement, students build essential skills while developing a deep understanding of language structure. This class uses research based strategies that support all learning needs (including ADHD, Dyslexia, ASD). Phonics instruction is systematic, sequential, multi-sensory, explicit, individualized and reinforced.
