We will be strengthening reading and language skills through virtual board games and activities for: fluency, sight words, vocabulary, writing, suffixes, prefixes, nouns, homonyms, synonyms, adjectives, and similes. Students will need a bin/box with the following supplies available at each class: white board, 2 white board markers, white board eraser (a sock works), 2 pencils with erasers, twenty 3 X 5 cards, 20 sentence strips or paper that an adult has "cut" into 22 X 3 inch strips (these may be purchased and taped together for length, or cut copy paper to size and tape together for length), child proof scissors, 8 large slide-lock baggies and one "di" (singular for dice).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Flyleaf.com has made available to instructors text for guided reading. Lessons will also include PowerPoint activities with sorting and segmenting and manipulating phonemes in words.
