Beginner Level
Phonemic awareness, phonics, and decoding skills will be taught in this class. I will first get to know the learner and their current knowledge and skill levels. Then, the class will be tailor-made according to the learner's ability. Following a systematic phonics sequence and scope, I will help the learner to work on exactly what they need to move forward with their reading. The class will be very hands-on and learners will interact with me through games and interactive slides. During my 6 years of teaching reading, I have helped many students develop their foundational phonics knowledge and reading skills. I am very passionate about teaching young kids how to read. Reading opens the door to endless possibilities, learning, and fun they can get from books. What I do is to give them the key and show them how to use it. I also recognize that every child is different, so I aim to individualize my approach to make it more accessible to each learner.
Learning Goals
Learners will learn and develop skills to play with sounds (e.g. blending, segmenting).Learners will learn and practice phonics skills based on their individual progress (e.g. letters and sounds, short vowels cvc words, blends and diagraphs, long vowels)

Learning Needs
This class is designed for students who are new to phonics instructions and students who have difficulty applying and mastering their phonics skills. Multisensory strategies would be used to support the learners.
