Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
Is your child a struggling reader or just needing some brush up? This is the class for you. We will be reviewing: vowel sounds, phonics/sounds of letters, fluency/connecting letter sounds, training our tongues to make our sounds, sight words, vocabulary/new words and writing. This class includes "Wiggle Breaks" to get our brains moving, reading circles and fun characters to help us practice our skills. I will teach live sessions which will provide opportunities for modeling and student practice. After each lesson, kids will have a fun reading game to do with their families. Parents are also encouraged to read with children as much as possible. My teaching style is to encourage each child at their developmental level and celebrate their individual growth in reading skills. I can’t wait to meet my little readers. Let's learn to love reading! A requirement for this course is that the learner knows the sound of each letter in the alphabet and is able to write the letters of the alphabet. My philosophy in teaching is to meet learners where they are and to celebrate their successes each step of the way. In my spare time I enjoy activities with my family and grandchildren, swimming and reading a good book! I look forward to extending these opportunities to more children around the globe!
