The focus for this class is to help young athletes get a grasp on the things they can take care of and control when practice ends. In the class we will cover: Proper Rest and Recovery Methods Why Nutrition is important Why proper hydration is important Why Sleep is important How to make the most of "rest" days Why grades are important for athletes and college Making the most out of your time with your coaches How to look for extra work While working through this class, I will use my knowledge and experience as both a high school and collegiate strength coach, and as a high school recruiting coordinator to help make sure your athlete learns the things they need to focus on and control themselves. While I think this course could be taught in one session, I would like to make sure the students are fully able to grasp some of the concepts that we will cover. I also want to give them an opportunity to review the material and come back to the second session with any questions they may have. There is no knowledge base needed for this class. I'll just be covering the basics and making sure to point out the things they need to know to maximize their potential.
