Class Experience

This quick 15 minute class is designed to stimulate the child's interest in learning phonics and how to read. Each week the child will be taught an animal with actions and a song for the vowel. On the six and final class they will say each animal and sing the songs.
Week 1 the student will be taught the long "a" sound with a song and an animal with actions. Week 2 the student will be taught the long "e" sound with a song and an animal with actions. Week 3 the student will be taught the long "i" vowel sound with a song and an animal with actions. Week 4 the student will be taught the long "o" vowel sound with a song and an animal with actions. Week 5 the student will be taught the long "u" vowel sound with a song and an animal with actions. Week 6 the student will say all 5 long vowel sounds, sing all 5 long vowel songs and use the action for the animals. The student will need to practice the song on a daily basis to properly learn it. In order to help the student learn the song, parents will be given the new song and animal actions after each class to enable them to practice with the child.
