If your child has a strong grasp of short vowel words, and is growing in their reading abilities, then this will be a great fit to build skills and confidence on their reading journey. Each class includes: *A song to introduce the week’s word family *Many colorful slides to keep the class engaged *Multiple turns for each student and whole-class participation *A brief "story", with pictures, they may listen to and read to search for words from our family *Time to build, blend, and read...
Students will: *learn to blend sounds together to read long vowel words *use auditory and visual discrimination to identify our word family words *practice their reading, writing, and rhyming *grow in confidence and independence in relation to their reading *have a great time as their reading skills develop!
For 23 years I was a 3-6 Montessori teacher and I was able to guide children from sound acquisition through word building, reading, writing, and beyond. I love to integrate songs, games and a bit of silliness into my classes to make learning fun. I let the children know that "mistakes are how you learn" and that they should never be afraid to try!
