Class Experience
Students will: *learn to blend sounds together to read long vowel words *use auditory and visual discrimination to identify our word family words *practice their reading, writing, and rhyming *grow in confidence and independence in relation to their reading *have a great time as their reading skills develop!
For 23 years I was a 3-6 Montessori teacher and I was able to guide children from sound acquisition through word building, reading, writing, and beyond. I love to integrate songs, games and a bit of silliness into my classes to make learning fun. I let the children know that "mistakes are how you learn" and that they should never be afraid to try!
There is no required homework, although worksheets to accompany class concepts/content will be available to families. Practice outside of class is optional and should follow the child's lead and interest.
4 files available upon enrollmentChildren may bring printed worksheets (to be provided) to class or may use a white board, pencil and paper or just write in the air if they would like.
Informal assessments during class.
