In this 9 week course, students will learn the fundamentals of algebra 1 from real numbers, equations, functions, slope, and slope intercept form.

The quarter 2 content has spiraled homework from quarter 1, so you may need to refer to your notes from before... Quarter 2 content covers exponent rules (multiplication rule, power to a power rule, quotient rule), polynomial operations (addition, subtraction, and multiplication), factoring, and simplifying rational expressions. Week 18 is a review of the course and the midterm. I will make myself available for this course for 12 weeks for those students who are looking for a letter grade...

Homework Offered
Homework per week includes: watching 3 lesson videos (and taking the quiz at the end...students may use their notes) completing 30 question assignment work must be shown.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
at the end of this course, students will receive their certificate of completion if they receive at least a 60% average on the covered material. This includes quizzes, assignments, and the end of quarter test. The certificate will have their overall percentage for this quarter of the course. I will make myself available for this course for 12 weeks for those students who are looking for a letter grade and certificate of completion. I check the classroom notifications and will respond within 1-2 days. If students need one on one help through video, it may be beneficial to sign up for one of my one on one tutoring classes. These are 45 minute one on one sessions.Grades Offered
Grading will be offered as a way to measure proficiency in the course. Before moving to quarter 2, students should have a proficiency int he quarter 1 content. Students can retake tests in order to achieve this. 90-100% A 80-89% B 70-79%C 60-69%D Students need to have at least a 60% in order to move to the quarter 3 material. I will make myself available for this course for 12 weeks for those students who are looking for a letter grade and certificate of completion. I check the classroom notifications and will respond within 1-2 days. If students need one on one help through video, it may be beneficial to sign up for one of my one on one tutoring classes. These are 45 minute one on one sessions.
