Beginner - Advanced Level
In this Algebra 1 Honors class, students will explore a variety of engaging topics, including linear equations, quadratic functions, systems of equations, and real-world applications of algebraic concepts. The course is structured to provide a balanced mix of direct instruction, collaborative group work, and independent practice. I employ a dynamic teaching style that incorporates interactive elements, such as lectures, problem-solving games, and multimedia resources like slides and video clips. Students will have numerous opportunities to engage with me through discussions and collaborative activities, ensuring a supportive learning environment where questions are encouraged and explored. Through this interactive approach, learners will not only grasp fundamental algebraic concepts but also develop critical thinking skills that apply to real-life situations.
Learning Goals
Master Algebraic Expressions: Students will fluently simplify, evaluate, and manipulate algebraic expressions using appropriate properties and operations.
Solve Linear Equations: Learners will confidently solve one-variable and multi-variable linear equations and inequalities, demonstrating an understanding of their graphical representations.
