Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 10
This is a one on one tutoring session with a someone who has taught Algebra for over 20 years. This is based on student need. I will go through algebra content that your child is seeing in their algebra classroom. We can practice concepts that the student is struggling with or we can work through homework.

Please have homework uploaded prior to the start of the course. If there are notes that you would like me to explain, please upload those as well. We will work through problems together. You may want to have a fraction calculator (scientific calculator) handy; if you don't have one, desmos.com/scientific has a nice calculator.
Learning Goals
Hopefully students will overcome some of the struggles they are having with the content or the homework in their current math course. Students will need to upload specific homework problems in advance so that we can use our time more effectively.

I have been teaching algebra for over 20 years! I love teaching and helping students be more successful. I understand things like math anxiety and struggling learners, so I take a "small skills" approach to teaching. This means that instead of long in-depth lessons, it is very focused on small skill mastery before moving on. I also spiralize my curriculum so that students get mixed review practice to maintain those skills that they have already mastered throughout my course.

I love crafting and spending time with my family! In the summer, we are either camping or at a ballfield somewhere.
