Algebra 2 Summer School

This 5 week course includes 4 weeks of content followed by a cumulative project to show proficiency in the topics covered in this course. It covers the major topics of algebra 2.

Homework
2-4 hours per week. Homework will include around 30 problems per week on the lessons taught. Students should take 2-3 hours per week to work on this course. I am available during the timeframe to answer questions through the online classroom. I will respond to questions within 1-2 days. The 5th week of the course has been included as a way to help students who have fallen behind or need help with the cumulative project.
Assessment
Assessments will be weekly. There will be a final assessment after the 4 weeks. If a student does not pass the final assessment, students can opt to do an alternate assessment as long as their assignments were turned in on time. There is a certificate of completion at the end of this course.
Grading
A certificate of completion will be available for students who show proficiency on their tests and cumulative project. The reviews for each week are a way to study the material for each test. Tests can be taken twice. The cumulative project has self-checking feature where the answers are scrambled on the last page. I am available during the timeframe to answer questions through the online classroom. I will respond to questions within 1-2 days. The 5th week of the course has been included as a way to help students who have fallen behind or need help with the cumulative project.

Class Experience

Students will be practicing the major topics of Algebra 2. This includes Factoroing, Complex Numbers and Operations, Linear Functions, Quadratic Functions, Quadratic Equations, Polynomial Division, Exponential Functions and Equations

Students will learn the material by Edpuzzle videos. There will be a pdf file download for students to take notes (assignments are included in the binder as well). Students may use their notes to complete the edpuzzle video quizzes. Other assessments will be done weekly. There will be a cumulative assessment at the end of the 4 weeks. If students do not show proficiency on the final assessment, students can opt to do an alternative assessment as long as all of the written assignments were submitted on time.

I am available during the timeframe to answer questions through the online classroom. I will respond to questions within 1-2 days.

Other Details

Pre-Requisites
Students should have passed a prior Algebra 1 course. The intention is for this to be a credit recovery or summer school option for students.
Supply List
Students will have a pdf file to print off which has their binder of notes and assignments. There are video links for students to take notes from on the agenda. Although students can do kami (online annotations with the pdf file), it is preferred to hand write the notes and work.
