What's included

9 pre-recorded lessons
9 weeks
of teacher support
1 year access
to the content
Homework
2-4 hours per week. Homework per week includes: watching 3 lesson videos (and taking the quiz at the end...students may use their notes) completing 30 question assignment work must be shown.
Assessment
at the end of this course, students will receive their certificate of completion if they receive at least a 60% average on the covered material. This includes quizzes, assignments, and the end of quarter test. The certificate will have their overall percentage for this quarter of the course. The assessment at the end of this portion of the course includes the final exam for the course.
Grading
Grading will be offered as a way to measure proficiency in the course. Before moving to quarter 2, students should have a proficiency int he quarter 1 content. Students can retake tests in order to achieve this. 90-100% A 80-89% B 70-79%C 60-69%D Students need to have at least a 60% in order to move to the quarter 4 material.

Class Experience

This quarter of the full algebra course covers topics with systems of equations (like word problems and systems of linear inequalities); it also covers the basics of data and probability (measures of central tendency, different types of graphs to represent data, 5 number summary, as well as basic probability, compound probability, and probability with and without replacement) It is highly recommended that students take notes in their binders to help with homework questions that are spiraled into the curriculum.

I will make myself available for this course for 12 weeks for those students who are looking for a letter grade and certificate of completion. I check the classroom notifications and will respond within 1-2 days.

If students need one on one help through video, it may be beneficial to sign up for one of my one on one tutoring classes. These are 45 minute one on one sessions.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to solve systems of equations word problems involving graphing, substitution, and elimination
Students will be able to write and graph systems of inequalities as well as identify solutions

I have been teaching algebra for over 20 years! I love teaching and helping students be more successful. I understand things like math anxiety and struggling learners, so I take a "small skills" approach to teaching. This means that instead of long in-depth lessons, it is very focused on small skill mastery before moving on. I also spiralize my curriculum so that students get mixed review practice to maintain those skills that they have already mastered throughout my course.

I love crafting and spending time with my family! In the summer, we are either camping or at a ballfield somewhere.
