In this 8-session class, students confident with reading CVC words will take the next step in their reading and writing journeys! My instruction is positive and encouraging, and aligns with the Science of Reading and explicit phonics.

In this lesson, we will use an Adventure Quest to review all concepts taught.

Learners will build on their knowledge of letter-sounds, phonemic awareness, and blending/segmenting of sounds. Learners will add digraphs sh, ch, th, and wh, initial and final consonant blends, "magic e" words, and other phonics skills to improve reading.
I am a certified elementary teacher with years of experience in preschool and second grade. I have also taught ESL for 3 years on-line, and hold an MA in Teaching from Dominican University. I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach through IMSE (30-hour morphology plus course) and the Reed Charitable Foundation (30-hour classroom educator course).
