Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 4
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Division can be difficult to understand, as it is quite abstract. In this engaging course, we will explore division within 100 in a fun, interactive way with a large variety of strategies demonstrated within the Minecraft game itself.

By breaking down numbers, using multiplication and repeat subtraction, creating block and crop arrays, and organizing inventory items into groups within Minecraft, learners will grasp the abstract concept of division through Minecraft activities that make division in mathematics feel relevant, enjoyable, visual, and concrete.

Instead of memorizing division tables, learners learn how to use the Minecraft's building blocks and resources to visually and concretely understand division in action, enhancing their understanding without a need for, or focus on, rote memorization. Previous multiplication table memorization is not required for this course. Age range is flexible for inclusivity.

My responsive, positive, and inclusive educator support is available asynchronously throughout this course. I am happy to offer this interaction for an additional 30 days beyond the official window. Access to this course content is accessible for a one year.
