Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
In this one-time class, students will be introduced to beginning division while using their optional favorite Minecraft items or legos. Students may choose to draw simple shapes if they don't bring Minecraft objects or legos. Optional: Bring your own Minecraft items or legos to use when solving beginning division problems. The teacher will demonstrate how to solve problems. The teacher will use non-Minecraft shapes to solve problems on the virtual screen. Students will work with the teacher as well as independently. Students have the option to bring Minecraft items that they can use to count and/or create arrays to solve problems for the class. Students can also draw simple Minecraft figures or items to solve their problems as well in place of bringing items to class. If students bring Minecraft items to class, they should have a minimum of 50. No weapons or violence will be allowed in class so anything that a student is drawing or using for the class, should not include weapons or anything that includes violence. Using Minecraft items is not required. Let's learn beginning division with a Minecraft theme!

Hello everyone! Welcome to Outschool!
My name is Ms. Julie and I'm excited to meet you! I teach Reading, Math, Writing, ESL (English As a Second Language), and other subjects too. I've been an educator and teaching for over 20 years in both brick-and-mortar and online. When I'm not teaching, I can often be found tutoring online or in person. My experience includes working with preschool to high school students with a lot of my experience with elementary and middle school age groups. I have an elementary education K-6 grade license as well as a math 5-8 license and a K-12 ESL (English As a Second Language) License. I have taught ESL (English as a Second Language) for many years also. My masters in reading has been a great resource as well.
Every student can learn and I believe we all learn in different ways. I love to have fun while learning! When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time outside with my furry friend or time with family and friends.
