Join in on some Halloween fun. In this class students will complete 3 Halloween themed science experiments while they learn Halloween facts and the science behind why each experiments occur.

Class Experience

In this class students will participate in Halloween themed science experiments. Students will learn chemical reactions, chemical formulas and fun Halloween facts behind each experiment. 

All experiments are done live. If a student does not have all the supplies or the availability to get all the supplies they may still participate in the class discussions and watch the live experiments right before their eyes.

Experiments being completed: Frankenworms, Exploding/Vomiting's Pumpkins, and Witches Brew

Please Note: Siblings and Co-Learners must be enrolled to attend and participate in class.

Supply List:

Frankenworms Science Experiment:
Materials:
Gummy worms
3 tablespoons baking soda
1 cup warm water
2 clear glasses
Vinegar 
Fork or Spoon 


Witches Brew: 
Materials: 
1 Cup min Baking soda
Food coloring
Vinegar (enough for all containers) 
Dish soap
Spoon 
Large tray (Cookie Sheet) 
3 glass containers or beakers. 

Exploding/Vomiting Pumpkins:
1 cup- 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
3 tbsp. Water
Dish Soap
2 tbsp. Yeast
Food Coloring 
Cookie Sheet
Jar or Bowl to Mix Yeast
Small/Medium Pumpkin (Prior to Class Pumpkin needs to be de-seeded) If a small pumpkin can not be obtained then a orange cup will do just fine. Students carve a pumpkin face prior to the start of class if they choose.  Be sure not to carve too close to the bottom. Leave a couple of inches for the reaction to start.

Students will increase their listening skills by being able to follow step by step processes in each experiment.

Parental Guidance
Some of these experiments can get messy. A cookie sheet is requested to keep the mess contained and off of the area students are working on. Students will also be using scissors or a knife adult supervision may be required.
