In this ongoing club we will perform a different science experiment each week. Topics stand alone so students can join at any time. We will also play a science kahoot game to review what we learned at the end of each class. I teach in an interactive way! I love involving students in discussion! I will post extra learning videos and all the supplies needed for the experiments in the classroom every week. SCHEDULE OF EXPERIMENTS Week of June 2nd : CLOUD IN A JAR - the water cycle Week of June 9th: BLOW UP A BALLOON WITH SCIENCE - endothermic/chemical reaction Week of June 23rd: GLITTER SLIME - non-newtonian fluids/polymers Week of June 30th: WALKING WATER - capillary action/cohesion/adhesion Week of July 7th: INVISIBLE INK - chemical reactions/oxidation Week of July 28th: CANDY DNA - the science of DNA Week of August 4th: MAGIC MILK - surface tension/surfactants Week of August 11th: LAVA LAMP - density

Parental Guidance
Students may need parental supervision for our science experiments each week.
We will use a Kahoot game each week to review. Students can use the kahoot app downloaded to a phone or tablet or just go to kahoot.it in a web browser with a parents help to play the game. Students will always have the option of playing on a team with the teacher instead of signing into the game.

SCHEDULE OF EXPERIMENTS Week of June 2nd : CLOUD IN A JAR - the water cycle jar or clear tupperware water foam shaving cream food coloring Week of June 9th: BLOW UP A BALLOON WITH SCIENCE - endothermic/chemical reaction empty water bottle balloon baking soda vinegar funnel or paper to make a funnel Week of June 23rd: GLITTER SLIME - non-newtonian fluids/polymers 8-ounce bottle Elmer’s white school glue 1 1/2 – 2 Tablespoons contact saline solution, more as needed (or slime activator) 1 Tablespoon baking soda Food coloring, optional Glitter, optional Week of June 30th: WALKING WATER - capillary action/cohesion/adhesion 6 clear glasses water 3 paper towels red, blue, yellow food coloring Week of July 7th: INVISIBLE INK - chemical reactions/oxidation paper lemon juice milk baking soda water 3 small dishes for the liquids 3 cotton swabs a heat source Week of July 28th: CANDY DNA - the science of DNA 2 twizzlers 8-10 gumdrops of 4 different colors 8 toothpicks Week of August 4th: MAGIC MILK - surface tension/surfactants Milk (whole or 2%) A bowl or casserole dish Food Coloring or liquid water colors Liquid dish soap Toothpick or cotton swab Week of August 11th: LAVA LAMP - density clear water bottle or jar Vegetable Oil Water Food coloring – primary colors or neon Original Alka Seltzer tablets

I have been teaching science classes in person and online for the past 7 years. I have been homeschooling my own children for 12 years. I have a Bachelor's degree in Child Development and am a Certified Child Life Specialist.
