Ready, Set, Learn...Sight Words In this multi-day class, learners will practice sight words with a workbook and songs. Learners will work with the teacher to complete two pages of their Ready, Set, Learn, Sight Words book per class. The teacher will use a magnetic letter board to help students identifying and recognize the sight word. The board will be used to understand the spelling and pronunciation. (Optional: Learners may have their own magnetic board and letters to manipulate the word). At the end of the lesson, the teacher will encourage all the learners to use the sight word in a sentence of their own creation. Each lesson will include: -Tracing -Writing -Spelling -Identifying the missing letters We will cover the following sight words: Week 1 - and the is you Week 2 - that of Review # 1 (and, the, is, you, that of) he Week 3 - was are this up Week 4 - all Review # 2 (he, was, are, this, up all) she like Week 5 - can see each boy Review # 3 (she, like, can, see, each, boy) Week 6 - girl at why how Week 7 - what who Review # 4 (girl, at, why, how, what, who) Final Review (question words and unscramble) *****Learners must have their own copy of the Ready, Set, Learn...Sight Words book (Please, see the supply list for more information).

Hello! Nice to meet you! I am Ilene. I love all subjects, but my passion is everything related to Language Arts. I am excited to teach all my students about the wonderful world of the written word. We are going to travel through the pages of a book to learn about the real world and the fantastic world of fictional stories. I have earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-6) from Florida International University and I am certified in Elementary Education and hold an Endorsement in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) (K-12). I have been an elementary school teacher for 15 years and have taught Reading, Writing, Language Arts, Math, Science, STEM, ESOL and even Spanish! Learning is a journey and everyone's path is different, but I believe that meaningful, fun, interactive lessons can empower students to be lifelong learners and readers.
