Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Are you "hungry" for shark facts? Are you a shark lover?

In this class, learners will learn facts about sharks.

With the use of a PowerPoint presentation, students will learn facts about where sharks live (habitats), their characteristics, and the dangers they face. Students will also review what people we can do to protect these amazing creatures.

Learning Goals

Learners will be able to analyze how shark features like their teeth, fins, and sensory systems contribute to their unique abilities and behaviors within their habitats.
Learners will construct an argument that plants and animals have internal and external structures that function to support survival, growth, behavior and reproduction.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Bachelor's Degree in Education from Florida International University
As a classroom teacher for 15 years and an online teacher for 4 years, I have had the opportunity to teach children from K-8 grade on many different subjects. One of my favorite subjects to teach is science. I have taught students about different animals, including sharks, and the conservations efforts to protect them. I have taken my fifth grade students on many field trips to the bay where we have learned and had hands-on experience with marine animal habitats.
