During this on-going chat club, learners will bring their conversations topics to class. Join us at any time during the summer to make friends and fun conversation. Let's meet friends from all over the world and take turns talking about some our favorite topics. Every class session will have a different topic or theme: Week 1 Day 1 - Introductions - Where are you from? Day 2 - Family Week 2 Day 3 - Pets Day 4 - Animals Week 3 Day 5 - Toys Day 6 - Games Week 4 Day 7 - Cartoon Day 8 - Movie Week 5 Day 9 - Food Day 10 - Dessert Week 6 Day 11 - Place Day 12 - Outdoor Activity Week 7 Day 13 - What is the best gift you've received? Day 14 - What makes you happy? Week 8 Day 15 - Ice Cream Day 16 - Cookies Week 9 Day 17 - Outdoor Activities Day 18 - Indoor Activities Week 10 Day 19 - Friends Day 20 - Vacations Week 11 Day 21 - Summer Activities Day 22 - School

Hello! Nice to meet you! I am Ilene. I love all subjects, but my passion is everything related to Language Arts. I am excited to teach all my students about the wonderful world of the written word. We are going to travel through the pages of a book to learn about the real world and the fantastic world of fictional stories. I have earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-6) from Florida International University and I am certified in Elementary Education and hold an Endorsement in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) (K-12). I have been an elementary school teacher for 15 years and have taught Reading, Writing, Language Arts, Math, Science, STEM, ESOL and even Spanish! Learning is a journey and everyone's path is different, but I believe that meaningful, fun, interactive lessons can empower students to be lifelong learners and readers.
