In this ongoing class, learners will... -receive individualized tutoring, instruction and support in English/Language Arts areas. -learn/review English grammar rules. -learn/review how to expand sentences. -learn/review how to create proper paragraphs. -learn/review how to expresses themselves creatively. -learn/review vocabulary strategies (such as: Latin/Greek root words, context clues, homophones, etc.) -learn/review reading comprehension skills (such as: compare and contrast, main idea, point of view, etc.). -learn/review reading comprehension strategies (such as: summarizing, predicting, drawing conclusions, etc.). OR -receive individualized tutoring, instruction and support in Math areas. -learn/review multiplication facts/fact families, etc. -learn/review operations and algebraic thinking. -learn/review number and operations - Base Ten. -learn/review number and operations - Fractions. -learn/review reading geometry. -learn/review measurement and data. Learners will be taught using direct instruction, in context materials, games, videos, etc.

Learners should have: - a dedicated notebook to write lesson notes. -a pencil -a highlighter -crayons, markers or color pencils -If a Kahoot game will be used in that session, student will need a secondary electronic device (ex: mobile phone, tablet) with access to the internet.

Hello! Nice to meet you! I am Ilene. I love all subjects, but my passion is everything related to Language Arts. I am excited to teach all my students about the wonderful world of the written word. We are going to travel through the pages of a book to learn about the real world and the fantastic world of fictional stories. I have earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education (K-6) from Florida International University and I am certified in Elementary Education and hold an Endorsement in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) (K-12). I have been an elementary school teacher for 15 years and have taught Reading, Writing, Language Arts, Math, Science, STEM, ESOL and even Spanish! Learning is a journey and everyone's path is different, but I believe that meaningful, fun, interactive lessons can empower students to be lifelong learners and readers. I love traveling and my home away from home is Disney World. See you soon in my online classroom!
