This ongoing class is designed for learners that want to learn to read and play at the same time! Using an alphabet Pop It, learners will learn spell and write CVC (ex: cat, met, bug). Learners must know most of the letters and letter sounds. This focuses on letters and letter sounds to build words. Instruction is based off of word families. Learners will learn the word family first (-at, -en, it-, -on, -ut, etc.) and then practice adding beginning letters to form words. A worksheet will be provided for the learners to practice reading and writing the words during the week. We focus on a different word family each week. The lessons are stand alone lessons so learners can join at any time! Sample Week break down: Week of September 26: -ot words Week of October 3: -at words Week of October 10: -it words Week of October 17: -an words Week of October 24: -ut words Week of October 31: -ap words Week of November 7: -et words Week of November 14: -un words Week of November 21: -ab words Week of November 28: -am words Week of December 5: -ub words Week of December 12: -ob words This class is inclusive, so learners of all abilities are welcome to join! Hello families! My name Heidi and I love learning. I have a passion to help and guide others to find joy in learning. With over 17 years teaching experience at all levels (Prek-12), my goal for every class is to bring the fun from the classroom to your learner's device!
With over 7 years of online teaching experience, I enjoy finding new ways to make virtual learning fun! I offer a variety of educational classes for learners ages 3-12. In each class, learners will have the opportunity to learn, apply, and expand learning during class. All of my classes are open to learners of all abilities.
