This ongoing class is designed to help learners practice phonics skills and build reading fluency. Each class will have the same general format but will cover a different phonics skill (digraphs, trigraphs, diphthongs, blends, prefixes, and suffixes). Learners who will be successful in this class already know all of their letter sounds, are able to write all of their letters independently to form words, and have started to practice blending sounds to read words. I have an Associates of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. I am certified to teach Social Studies in grades 6-12. Additionally, I have my TESOL certification. I have been a 12th grade teacher, a 10th grade teacher, and most recently a Lead Teacher in a pre-school where I exclusively worked with 3, 4, and 5 year olds. I taught at the pre-school for three years with a focus on fostering the development of early literacy and math skills. I've been a teacher on Outschool since the Summer of 2020. During that time I've continuously taught my Sight Word Swing Level 1 and 2 classes, my Writer's Workshop class, and done private tutoring.
