In the group class, students will build their fluency of sight words by reading sentences! They will learn in interactive ways such as singing, playing games, and reading. The goal is for your child to gain confidence and grow as a reader!
Class experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 2
In this group class, there will be 3 sight words per week that your child will learn. After a brief introduction to the words, your child will be reading sentences. This will increase meaning of the sight words and build fluency. The parts of fluency that will be taught includes the following: accuracy (reading with few errors), speed (the rate at which a student reads) and prosody (using correct tone and expression). I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Montevallo. I have been teaching online reading classes for the past 4 years. I am currently an ESL tutor in the public school system.
Homework Offered
Worksheets are provided for additional practice at home! They are optional and not required to be completed before class! We will not complete the worksheets during class.0 hours per week outside of class
