Learning goals will be designed to fit the needs of each student. Examples of skill areas are strengthening their phonics skills in order to decode and read at a conversational rate. Students may build their vocabulary or learn comprehension strategies to understand texts.

I have over 15 years of teaching experience across various learning environments, such as public, private, independent, and virtual.  I am currently a licensed educator in the State of Maryland. I have a Masters degree in teaching and TESOL/TEFL certification. I have stepped away from the public education system in order to homeschool my children.  In addition to teaching my 3 children, I offer individual and small-group instruction to elementary students.  It is rewarding to see young learners thriving from reading literacy instruction designed to meet their individual needs.  I feel most effective as a teacher when I can work with each family to create a plan of action that will facilitate confidence and guide a student on their path toward reading fluency. Homework Offered
Assignments are not mandatory, though encouraged to reinforce what the student learns in class.
Assessments Offered
Students will be informally assessed regularly. Families are encouraged to maintain consistent communication regarding student progress as we work to achieve specific learning goals.
