Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
Beginner - Advanced Level
For student artists who love to create no matter what their experience or skill level. These kids draw, paint, sculpt, color, digital/Procreate, etc. in their free time and they know what they want to create. In my art studio they will have the opportunity to work on what they want in a social artist club.

During our first four weeks together student artists will create any type of art they want to express their creative response to the prompt provided. (See below for prompts.) All art media is welcome. While we are creating, we will be discussing our progress and getting to know each other. These classes are intended to build relationships and trust in the studio space so that by week 5 the student artists show up prepared to create with their own ideas and tools to do so. They can practice drawing manga, paint a sea turtle, work on digital art, sculpt a cupcake, etc. Maybe they have an art project due for another school subject, they can work on that here too.

My studio is a friendly, supportive and welcoming space where I share my passion and knowledge with like-minded students. I have decades of experience in many art media and will be able to support each student to help them reach their artistic goals. We will begin week 5 and each one after with each student discussing the art they will be working on during studio time. Student artists will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with one another to share ideas and inspire each other. They will receive on-the-spot- support whenever needed in addition to suggestions and tips to improve their practice. At the end of our studio time, students will be invited to share their art with the club, this is a choice, not a requirement.
