Rubrics are available upon request for drawing assignments. Student art submissions are not required and grades are not given. However, if requested I will provide a grade for drawing assigments based on a rubric that encompasses the following: 1-Workmanship, Paper Neatness 2-Creativity and Originality 3-Effort, Time on Task, & Complete 4-Apply Elements & Principles, Follow Directions 5-Overall composition & DifficultyClass Experience

Everyone Is An Artist: Units 1-4, Middle/High School Self-Paced Art Class In this self-paced art class, middle and high school students will explore four key units that build strong artistic foundations while encouraging creative expression. The course combines drawing exercises, self-reflection, and art history to help students develop both technical skills and a deeper understanding of their creative identity. What Will Be Taught: Foundational drawing skills and creative techniques. Exploring creativity through drawing exercises, tips, and an artist research assignment. Introduces creative problem-solving, self-reflection, and engaging art history activities. Identity Reflection connects color theory with personal meaning and art history. Additional Class Details: This is the first of four courses, each covering four progressive units. While students work independently through videos and assignments, I am available for support via email. Students can submit assignments for personalized feedback to guide their artistic journey. Though self-paced, it is recommended to complete each unit within two weeks for steady progress.

Lesson 1:
Creativity Research
In this unit, you will look at what it is to be creative and learn some keys to increasing our ability to make original art.
First, choose from a panel of experts on creativity. Listen to their talk about creativity and respond to prompts about the chosen expert.

Lesson 2:
Free Association
We will explore this method to help unblock creativity and generate new innovative ideas for our projects.
Lesson 3:
Plagiarism Case
Research and report on a well noted plagiarism case between an artist and the press.

Unit 2: Think Like An Artist
Lesson 4:
Complete the Line
Use your imagination to complete the line drawing assignment.
