What will be taught:
Students learn how to use the order of operation rules to evaluate numerical expressions that make use of parenthesis and brackets to show order. 
Students understand and learn how to use parenthesis, brackets, or braces in numerical expressions, and evaluate with these symbols. 
Students learn and practice simple expressions that record calculation with numbers, and interpret numerical expressions without evaluating them. 
Students will solve equations and evaluate expressions using the order of operation which will include equations and expressions that contain parenthesis, but not exponents. 
How will the lesson be taught:
Doc cam, slides, whiteboard, engagement, discussions.
Students should know the basic order of operation. This is the next step from order of operation basics, no parenthesis class.
Learning Goals
Students will practice and understand how to solve equations and evaluate expressions using the order of operation. The students will solve equations which include equations and expressions that contain parenthesis, but no exponents.

Parental Guidance
Parental guidance is helpful in case of technical difficulty or help for logging on to the zoom. Students do not need any expensive toys, furnishings or other items. They do need well designed space that is safe for the student to do activities/projects. Parental guidance is necessary incase student needs help with an activity with guidance. Such as gluing, cutting with scissors etc. There are no third party websites that will be used for each week for the lessons or signing in for accounts.
