Magic Math (Introduction to Multiplication & Division)

Understand equal groups as multiplication.  Relate multiplication to the array model.  Interpret the meaning of factors—the size of the group or the number of groups.  Understand the meaning of the unknown as the size of the group in division.  Understand the meaning of the unknown as the number of groups in division.  Interpret the unknown in division using the array model.

I have 20 years of experience as a tutor, 6 years of experience as a classroom special education teacher, and 5 years of experience as a homeschool mom.  My specialty is using assessment & progress monitoring, along with student interests to create targeted, interest-based lessons that make learning fun & motivating.  

Optional homework can be recommended if you wish.  Some weeks I will provide a printable or homework page that is always optional.  If you wish to pair this with a workbook to be a complete curriculum please message me.

Informal feedback can be given from group classes, optional homework can be completed for work samples.  If you are not sure what level math your child is ready for please consider a 1:1 math assessment.  Anyone enrolled for at least 4 consecutive weeks will also be provided with a free math assessment to have their child complete 3x/year if they wish.

35 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.

Math Mammoth workbooks & Engage NY homework sheets may be used or recommended at times as optional homework.
