Beginner - Intermediate Level
Each class will start with a "hello," and a song. Students will sing songs counting by 2s, 3s, 4s, 6s, 7s, and 8s. Basically, they will be singing the multiples of each number. For example, for the number six, the song will include, "6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, 66, 72." Most songs go all the way up to the 12s (e.g., 6 x 12 = 72). I will teach a trick for learning the 9s. Once students start to get the words and melodies down, we will work on math problems related to the numbers in the songs for that day. This will include both multiplication and division facts. Students will sing their way to the answers! Oftentimes the best learning happens when students are in a "relaxed alertness" state of mind, which this class will promote.
Learning Goals
To learn multiples of 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9.
To use the multiples of a number to multiply and divide.

Introduction to Singing Our Multiplication and Division Facts
Students will greet one another as they join the meeting. I will explain how singing our multiples translates into knowing multiplication and division facts. We will review the commonly known multiples: 1s, 5s, and 10s. Next, we will learn a song for counting by 2s.

Learning Needs
This class is ADHD and dyslexia friendly, and ideal for students who like to sing or listen to music.
Pre-Requisites
This class will focus on counting by 2s, 3s, 4s, 6s, 7s, 8s, and 9s, due to the fact that students are typically taught how to count by 1s, 5s, and 10s. Therefore, prerequisite skills are counting by 1s, 5s, and 10s.

I have taught math for over twenty years at various levels from kindergarten through Algebra 1. For the past five years, I have taught math 1:1 for my own tutoring business and for the past year on Outschool. When I started to use songs to teach multiplication and division facts, not only did I see how effective it was, but I noticed an uplift in mood for my students and myself.
