Class Experience

US Grade 1
Beginner Level
This course will cover vowel teams "oa," "ai," & "ea." As well as covering high-frequency words: good, only, very, would, should, eat, after. We will cover this content with direct instruction, guided practice & independent practice that involves, reading isolated words, reading stories, spelling words & writing sentences.

I am a teacher that uses lots of interaction in her classes, students will do best in a quiet environment where they are free to unmute and participate in class to the fullest extent. Students will be able to participate on the screen, verbally, and/or in the chatbox so that they can show their learning in multiple ways. I like to ask questions instead of just having students listen while I give all the answers. I like students to share their thoughts and also get to know each other and me as the teacher. Lecture will be minimal, slides will be interactive, discussion is encouraged and there will be at least one game day per "set". Games will be added if additional time allows, the schedule is outlined but I reserve the right to adjust the timeline based on the needs of the group and I never want any learning to feel rushed!
Learning Goals
Students will increase proficiency at reading & spelling words with vowel teams: “oa,” “ai,” and “ea” & high-frequency words: “good,” “only,” “very,” “would,” “should,” “eat,” “after”.
