Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 5
If your student needs a caring and engaging teacher to provide math fact instruction, particularly if they're new to it or struggled with it previously, this course would be a fun and beneficial addition to their education. Feel free to have your child join this ongoing course at any time; however, please note that the requested supplies on the learner supply list are essential for your child's success and ability to participate in all parts of the live class instruction.

During each class, I will provide direct number sense and math fact fluency instruction. I'll show concrete representations, help students make connections, teach them tools and tricks, and help them obtain fact fluency and automaticity with multiplication and division. Students will develop a deeper understanding of the concepts of multiplication and division, improve their number sense, increase retention and understanding by journaling, participate in an interactive math fact rap and play an exciting and friendly math competition against their peers based on what we learned in class that day. Each live class is designed to be incredibly engaging and interactive for each student, providing opportunities for different senses and learning styles to ensure different areas of your child's brain is engaged in the learning process. This helps strengthen retention, long-term memory and sustains children's interest throughout class. High repetitions and positive feedback is incorporated in to each class meeting to help build student confidence and proficiency of the material. Students will be supported and challenged by me throughout each class based on their individual needs. Although each student's needs are different, families should notice improvements in your child's math fact fluency in just a few classes.

Each session of my brain-based multiplication & division math fact class will be structured on one set of math facts.

Students that enroll in this course should be able to identify all numbers up to 100 and write in a notebook with a visual example and auditory directions provided. Students should bring their supplies to class each day (these are listed on the supply list below). Students will need a separate device with an internet browser like a smartphone, iPad, or laptop, or if students are using a computer, they can open up a separate window to play the game and still see me and friends via Zoom. Students may need support initially getting set up with the game the first few times we play. They should play the game independently once they’re signed up. They do not need an account or login. I will provide the site and game code live in zoom when it’s time to play. Note: Because this is an ongoing subscription class, your payment will be charged each Sunday of the week a class is scheduled. If your child will be unable to attend all classes in a week, simply unsubscribe from the class prior to Sunday and you won't be charged for that week; however, it isn't possible for me to hold your seat in the class when you unsubscribe if it were to fill up with another learner.
Learning Goals
