Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
During this self-paced class, the learner will be taught how to sew a button on an article of clothing. They will also learn how to pin pants to prepare for hemming. Finally, they will learn how to hem pants. The hemming stitch or running stitch can be used to hem other articles of clothing. 
The topics that are covered in this class include threading a needle, sewing on a button, pinning pants to be hemmed, and hemming pants. 
This class is structured as a step-by-step demonstration.
I will teach using a video demonstration of each skill.
My teaching style is relaxed and focuses on positive growth of skills.

Let's Sew On a Button.
 In this lesson, you will have a demonstration of threading a needle as well as how to sew on a button.

 In this lesson, you will learn how to pin pants so that you will be ready to hem them.

Let's Hem!
 In this lesson, you will learn how to sew a hem into pants. This same stitch can be used to hem any article of clothing.

Parental Guidance
Sewing involves the use of sharp objects like pins, needles, and scissors. Supervision and support may be needed.
Pre-Requisites
The learners should have the fine motor skills to thread a needle, or they should have someone that can help them with this step.
