Class Experience

Sewing is a much-needed life skill.
This class is taught in a hands-on learning environment, your teacher is going to help you every step of the way.

The best part is....YOU get to choose the project!

Class is structured as a "sew along side me". We will work on your project side-by-side. Instructor will show how, then learner will follow along.
Week 1 - Let's get to know each other and make sure your machine is functioning properly. Learner will pick the next project, and we will discuss fabric types needed.
Week 2 - We will start on your project. We will learn how to properly cut out patterns and how to conserve fabric. (If you know how to do this, we will proceed to work on your project).
Week 3 - Work continues on your project. We will follow the pattern instructions, review if there is an easier way, and learn tips and tricks to make your final project look professional.
Week 4 - We will start on another project of your choosing!
It doesn't matter if you have never sewn before or if you are advanced, Ms Lauren will "meet you where you are".
Ms Lauren's teaching style is fun, positive and patient.

Hello! My name is Ms Lauren Kimberly Iseley and I live in Oklahoma, USA. I am a mother of a 25 year old and an 18 year old. I home schooled both of my children from kindergarten to college. I love teaching and I am known for being very patient and encouraging.

I hold a degree in Accounting and a degree in Business Administration (Quantitative Analysis).

I really enjoy crafting and being super-creative! Creativity helps expand our minds and helps us solve everyday problems with "out of the box" solutions. Creativity is something that needs to be nurtured in every child.

I absolutely love to sew! Sewing gives us a multitude of skills - patience, persistence, creativity, and math.

I also teach math. If your student is struggling in math, it is most likely because they aren't having fun learning! Consider this....you can remember the words to a song but you can't remember basic math calculations. That is because the songs were set to music and your brain associated the song with fun....I teach math based on this principle.

I am an award-winning cake artist and love crafting and baking. I am excited to get to know your student and help them achieve their goals!
