Handwriting Helpers: Printing Practice Adventures

Get ready for an exciting journey to boost your handwriting skills! In this 8-week course, learners will refine their print handwriting through engaging activities, fun themes, and interactive games. Perfect for kids ages 6–9 who have mastered individual letters, this class builds confidence in writing words, sentences, and even short passages—all while having a blast!

This class will practice the American English print alphabet.

What Will Be Taught:
Neat and consistent letter formation
Proper spacing between letters and words
Writing simple sentences and longer passages
Adding creativity and personal touches to handwriting

Topics Covered:
Weekly themes based on the learners' interests like animals, Roblox, Pokémon, seasons, and more!
Writing lists, descriptive sentences, and short paragraphs
Collaboration through fun sentence-building games
A final project to showcase everything the writers have learned

How the class is structured:
Greetings
Warm up activity: List of favorites based on the weekly theme
Skill Focus: Targeted handwriting practice tailored to the weekly theme
Interactive Activity: A creative task to apply the skills being practiced
Writer's Gallery: Opportunity for the writers to tell what they did well and what they feel like they need to work on more along with constructive feedback

How will the class be taught:
The class will be taught using collaboration to get lists of words or create sentences based on the theme. There will be a step-by-step demonstration of how to write each of the words or sentences correctly. The learners will be given positive reinforcement as well as helpful hints to help them improve their  handwriting skills. 

What is my teaching style:
My teaching style focuses on the use of positive reinforcement for close approximations with gentle corrections to guide improvement. I like to create a relaxed atmosphere in order to help the learners be comforable learning even when they make mistakes.

How much will the learners get to interact with me and other learners:
The class will use words and sentences that the learners create collaboratively. They will be encouraged to interact with me throughout the class. They will also be welcomed to offer positive comments to their classmate throughout each lesson.
