Phonics & Word Recognition:
Letter-sound correspondences will be introduced through simple CVC words. Kirstin will model and students will follow to sound and blend consonant -vowel- consonant words.
Sight Words: students will learn one new sight word. Sight words are commonly seen words that students will learn to recognize without sounding them out.

Fluency & Comprehension:
We will practice sounding, blending and reading CVC words fluently
Kirstin will read a fun short story in class to help solidify that excitement and joy in reading. The story will be followed by questions to check comprehension.
