Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
In this ongoing class, students will build in Minecraft Creative mode. These are intermediate to advance builds, so students need to have a good understanding of their Minecraft version setting and blocks. (Recommended having 6 months and greater years of experience playing Minecraft) They will learn about one famous building from the past or present day, by building it. Each week there will be a new mystery structure to build and a mini lesson on who built it, where is it in the world, and why did it get built. Great introduction to geography and history!

Students will use Minecraft's Creative Mode, to construct the teacher's already constructed building. This will be a step by step process. They will listen to instructions, that contain very specific Minecraft building materials. These multiply step processes, will help with auditory processing, which improve skill-sets in reading comprehension and mathematical word problems.

At the end of class, we will have the grand reveal to celebrate your accomplishment and creativity. Will yours exactly match mine? We will have 5 minutes to share our builds and compare and contrast each others successes.

I cannot wait to have fun building with you. See you in the classroom.

***Some builds might be more complex and will require more time then the hour requires, or the skill-set of the builder, in this event I will send the recording so the students can continue the build at their own pace.

My family members are avid Minecrafters and I am a certified elementary teacher, who often incorporated many Minecraft theme classes into my curriculum. My cousin is an architect, she was my roommate for 6 years, so I gained an inform education through her by osmosis. My husband and I built our house from the foundation up, therefore, I have a lot of practical knowledge too.
