Summer Arts and Crafts: Let's Make Homemade Cards
Over the next 4 class we'll make four different greeting cards: two regular cards, one birthday card, and one thank you card.
Class experience
US Grade 6 - 8
This class will be hands on with students cutting paper, drawing, gluing, folding, and making the thank you card. I’ll first show examples of cards I’ve made before. We’ll first make the parts of the card, put the card together, and then make an envelope to fit the card perfectly. There'll also be some discussion about why should we make cards, snail mail versus e-mail (and text messages), and other relevant topics.

Students should be able to follow directions, use scissors well, and be able to write a few words.
Students should have scissors (and scissors that make special designs if they have them), a glue stick, paper (both white and colored paper), stamps and stamp pads (optional), a pen or pencil, and something to color with (crayons, colored pencils, or markers).
Students will be using scissors in this class as well glue; students should be able to safely use scissors.
