Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
In this ongoing class students will gather together to develop and practice early reading skills. Students will be introduced to a different word family a week (ap, et, in, og, up etc) and will practice blending and writing different CVC words. Students will engage in hands on activities (a worksheet will be uploaded prior to class), interactive slides, and discussion with their peers and myself. Students will work on sounding out and blending letters, reading words as a group, and will be given several opportunities to read independently and/or with teacher assistance. Students do not need to have prior experience reading to enroll in this class but should have a good understanding of their letters and letter sounds.
