Within this 3-day camp, students will learn introductory acting skills. They will take part in many activities that encourage students to develop their imaginations, physicality/movement, and the importance of cooperation. Students will begin each day of camp by taking part in The Actor’s Toolbox. This class is taught in English.
- Engage in imaginative play. - Improvise a character and setting from a story. - Demonstrate the give and take essential to effective collaboration. - Demonstrate active listening. - Use variations of voice, movement, and gesture for different characters.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
- Class will incorporate C.H.A.M.P.S. (Conversation, Help, Activity, Movement, Participation, and Success) This is a system of expectations that will be covered before each day of camp. It is an opportunity for students to ask clarifying questions and to help create a successful and safe learning environment. - Physical activity will not be overly strenuous. Students are encouraged but not required to wear comfortable clothing that supports flexible movement. - Please make sure that you have a water bottle nearby to stay hydrated.
