Coupon Alert: Get $6 off your first session of "Acting Club for Tweens!" with coupon code STAFFBGKNH6 until Dec 31, 2024! This club meets weekly and emphasizes intermediate acting. Activities will encourage students to develop their improvisation skills, physicality/movement traits, and the importance of cooperation. Students will begin each lesson by taking part in The Actor’s Toolbox. This is an acting ritual that builds classroom community, but also provides students with the metaphorical “tools” that will be needed to become a successful performer. Afterwards, students will begin partaking in several different drama games that focus on refining their acting skills. This is a learner directed class and student enrollment will help determine class activities. As an ongoing class, learners are able to join or leave the class at any time!

I am a full-time K-8 drama instructor at a local school in Wichita, KS. Theatre has always been an important part of my life. Growing up – I was fortunate to live in a community that placed immense value on this art form. My participation in theatre allowed me to come out of my shell and has fostered many meaningful friendships.
The 2020 school year created a necessity for online learning. I was initially a little worried about the feasibility of teaching drama remotely. As the year progressed, I found that online drama can still be a significant and powerful experience.
