This camp is a first exposure to the world of Shakespeare. Students will explore Shakespeare through classroom discussion, drama games, and learning three Shakespearean lines! The end of each class will provide students with an opportunity to practice performing Shakespeare for their classmates. - Engage in imaginative play. - Demonstrate the give and take essential to effective collaboration. - Demonstrate active listening. - Use variations of voice, movement, and gestures.
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
- Class will incorporate C.H.A.M.P.S. (Conversation, Help, Activity, Movement, Participation, and Success) This is a system of expectations that will be covered before each day of camp. It is an opportunity for students to ask clarifying questions and to help create a successful and safe learning environment. - Physical activity will not be overly strenuous. Students are encouraged but not required to wear comfortable clothing that supports flexible movement.
