2-4 hours per week. Most homework for this course will require students to memorize their monologues and lyrics once we select the right pieces for them together. In order to gain confidence in performing, repetition is key, so students will be encouraged to run their lines and songs on a regular basis between sessions.Assessment

Beginner - Advanced Level
This eight week course is designed for learners who are interested in preparing for auditions for musical theater, straight theater, or film/self-tape, and is available to any and all experience levels. Whether this is a learners first time auditioning for something, or if they are a seasoned pro, this one-on-one coaching will get them fully prepared and feeling confident for their audition experience. With my teaching I prioritize creating a fun, animated, uplifting space where learners feel safe to explore, try new things, and express themselves. In this course, learners will receive all of the guidance and coaching they need to select great monologues/songs, identify the perfect roles for their voice part, and practice and rehearse selections to be performance ready. They will expand their confidence, stage presence and vocal/acting projection. Learners will also be taught audition etiquette, presentation and general flow in order to feel fully prepared for their experience. Depending on the learner's experience level and the audition they are preparing for, sessions twice per week for eight weeks is recommended.

No prerequisites or experience is necessary to take this course. Simply share with me the details and schedule of the audition experience you are preparing for.
Supply List
*Detailed information about the show, role, school, etc. they want to audition for and the requirements/timeframe of that audition. *Access to a secondary device (phone, ipad, alexa) from which to play parent approved instrumental/karaoke tracks of the songs the learner would like to sing. *A notebook and pen to write down assignments from the session. * A drinking straw (metal, plastic, or cardboard will do)- we will use this for breathwork exercises. *A full water bottle

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a classically trained singer/songwriter, musical theater performer, and recording artist of 20 years! For the past 16 years, I have taught vocal lessons to students around the world, and some of those students are now on Broadway! I have spent a many years on BOTH sides of the audition table, and am able to share the perspective of both the auditioner and the casting director. I have also been the music director, acting coach, and choreographer for youth musical theater productions in Los Angeles, CA.
