Class Experience

In this One on One coaching session, students get to practice singing, develop their acting skills, Voiceover, or work on an audition. I have been working in the performing arts for 15 years as an actor, singer, director, and voice actor with experience in film, theater, musical theater, VoiceOver, and directing, and am able to tailor each lesson to the individual student's goals.

Singing Coaching: For singing lessons, students are required to bring a song to practice on our first lesson for me to assess their skills and start working with them. It can be any song, any genre, that they are comfortable with and know fairly well. Students need to have an external source to play music from (if they are singing with music), such as a phone or iPad or the computer as the Zoom audio frequency works best when the music is played in the same room as the singer. If a student needs help choosing a song to work on, I will provide suggestions for them.

Acting and Voiceover Coaching: Students can either bring a script to start working on or I can provide one for them. We will be working on scenes, monologues, acting technique, improv, and discussing what goes in to creating believable characters. We will also go over self taping set ups for film auditions, how to work with a reader, how to audition for the stage, resume', headshot, and more. With Voiceover, we will be discussing and working on similar areas but tailored to the techniques required for Voiceover.

Audition and Performance Coaching: If a student wants to work on their part in a play and wants to practice lines, please provide the name of the play and any links to online scripts or digital copies of the script so that I can help your student most effectively. If you do not have a digital copy and are not sure where to find one, please provide the name of the play/musical and who wrote it and I will try to find it if it is available online.
If a student is preparing for an audition, please share with me any audition material they are working with and the type of audition so I can most affectively help them. We will go over self taping set ups for film auditions, how to work with a reader, how to audition for the stage, resume', headshot, and more.
Learning Goals
Students will feel equipped to take on any project and have the information necessary to approach each performance or audition with confidence and enthusiasm!

Learning Needs
This class allows students with learning challenges to work at their own pace and feel comfortable expressing themselves their own way. I am also Dyslexic and Neurodivergent, so I understand.
Parental Guidance
Please be sure your student has a song to start working on during the first class if they are starting singing lessons. If they have a script they want to work on from a play or musical they have been cast in or are auditioning for, please provide either a link to the digital version of the script so that I can work through the script with your student. If you don't have a digital copy available but can create photos or scanned copies, this works as well. If not, provide me with the name and author of the material and I will see what I can find. All music, scripts, or other material used in this class will be appropriate for each student's age and experience level.
Supply List
If you are practicing singing, bring a song to work on in class . It can be any genre. Just something you are comfortable with. Have a cell phone/CD Player/Speaker/iPad/Computer - some sort of external device to play music from as the Zoom audio frequency works best when the music is played in the same space as the singer. If you need help finding music links, let me know and I will find and send you options!

If a student is practicing acting or auditioning and they already have a script they want to work on, please provide either a link to the digital version of the script. If you don't have a digital copy available, provide me with the name and author of the material and I will see what I can find.
