Class Experience

These private tutoring sessions are individualized lessons designed to overcome learning struggles and intensify learning skills.
I will work together with you, the parent, to create meaningful learning opportunities for your child.
All areas of Language Arts will be covered on an as needed basis: reading fluency and comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, and writing in a variety of forms.
During writing instruction, early learners will begin composing well-written sentences. Intermediate students will compose a good paragraph that includes excellent word choice, transitions, grammar and punctuation. Older learners will compose longer essays with an emphasis on understanding the these three parts: introduction, body and conclusion.
Homework will be an important facet of your learner's tutoring journey. Most homework will be assigned in two parts. First, most lessons will culminate in a writing activity with an extension assigned for homework. Second, most of the time, I will design another "page" of practice work that will enhance the phonics, vocabulary or spelling portion of the lesson. You know your child best and we can discuss the homework any time you feel it is necessary to do so.
This learning opportunity is a distinctive class designed with individual learning needs in mind. It will be as special as your child.
Learning Goals
Reading, spelling, vocabulary and writing take time to develop. I will try to find and fill holes as quickly as I can in order to provide a rich learning experience which helps all learners develop pride in their abilities and confidence in all ELA areas
