Welcome to our Level 3 Reading Adventures with Scholastic Hello Reader Level 3 Books! This continuous course is tailored for confident readers seeking to elevate their literary skills. Each week, students will embark on a literary journey exploring a diverse selection of Scholastic Hello Reader Level 3 books, thoughtfully curated to align with their advancing reading proficiency. The course is designed to not only expand vocabulary but also to hone comprehensive language arts skills. Students will delve into longer stories with paragraphs, cultivating the ability to read for both pleasure and information. As part of the curriculum, learners will explore the intricacies of language, delving into parts of speech and language structures. Engaging activities will encourage students to practice reading for both enjoyment and understanding, fostering a love for literature and honing critical thinking skills. Join us on this enriching voyage where Level 3 readers will not only conquer challenging texts but also develop a deep appreciation for the beauty and power of language. Let the adventure in reading and language arts unfold!

The Level 3 books are approximately Second Grade to Third Grade Level. (Guided Reading Level: J-P; Lexile Level: 400L-650L). The Level 3 Hello Readers introduce longer stories with paragraphs with more powerful verbs and adjectives. Learners will expand their vocabulary and learn about reading for inspiration and information. We will also focus on phonics, grammar, language arts, literacy skills and writing skills. (This class ESL-friendly!)

We have experience working with learners of all abilities, including ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ASD and more. Learners of all abilities are welcomed and encouraged to join us in class. Please contact us for more information.

This course was created by and used with permission from Ms. Ashley. Ms. Ashley graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s degree, majoring in both education and mathematics. Later, she went on to also earn a TESOL teacher’s certificate. Ms. Ashley currently homeschools all five of her children. She has taught over 10,000+ virtual classes in all subjects over several years on different platforms. She has 18+ years of tutoring/teaching experience, both virtual and in-person, as well as 16 years+ of experience as a volunteer teacher, tutor, and coach in schools and classrooms. In addition to teaching, Ms. Ashley is part of curriculum development and review team for an online ELA and math teaching/tutoring company, where she also serves as a Learning Partner and Academic Advisor for incoming students. Other related experience includes ELA and math tutoring the University of Connecticut Student Center, substitute teaching in the public school system and working for five years as a Financial Controller of a litigation support firm with offices across the United States. Ms. Ashley truly values each and every student, and she hopes to help them to find a love of learning.
