US Grade Kindergarten - 2
In this lesson, learners will have fun listening to "Animalogy - Animal Analogies" by Marianne Berkes. This book has many different animal analogies with wonderful illustrations. After the book, we will play an interactive analogy game, where the students get to control the screen using their computer mouse or touch pad. Then we will make a flipbook of analogies. This class is great for children who are just learning about analogies, or to provide extra practice for learners who already know about analogies. Come join us in the classroom!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of analogies. They will listen to a story and share analogies from the story. Students will practice using analogies during an interactive game. Finally, students will be able to create analogies in a flipbook.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I'm Teacher Shannon! I have taught 2nd grade for 24 years. I've taught both Gifted and Regular Education. I was a substitute teacher for 2 years working with Early Childhood students as well as older elementary students. My passion is reading! I love Children's Literature and I have even co-taught college level students on "What's New In Children's LIterature?" for the last 10 years. What drives me as a teacher is to have a fun, safe, interactive classroom while embracing lots of quality literature. I want kids to love reading as much as I do and to have fun learning! And maybe make a craft or two along the way!
